hunk-o-mass: So many important questions out there! Here’s one grandma’s expert hypothesis: No, they are NOT made with bug wings. I don’t happen to have a package right now (grandsons ate them). INgredients would have to be sugar, citric acid (makes them a little tangy), food coloring, fruit flavors…plus a few other things. If there were bugs or bug parts in the mixture, the government folks would step in and stop the company from selling the candy. (Sorry grandma, but yes, shellac is secreted by bugs.)
